To all you with rear plate bumpers and a tire swing out

Sorry, I'm no help with the issue your having.

However, I just wanted to say that your bumpers and swing-outs turned out real nice! Let's see a pic of the swing-outs open and the tables set up.

Will do that as soon as I have time. The tables are not actually built yet. I have a plan for the jerry can side but still trying to figure out how to do the tire side.

The odd thing is this was the only the second time I have ever aired these tires down. However I am not putting tires out of the equation because the tire presser has been all over the place in them because I am pretty sure every single tire has a patch in it now due to slow leaks. So very well could be some wore out side walls from over the years of leaking out then filling up.

I'm pretty confident my sidewalls are in great shape. Don't rule it out, but I wouldn't put all my focus on it. I'm also swapping tires on Friday so I can tell you firsthand if that was the problem - at least on mine.

This was only mentioned once so far... has the anti-sway bar been removed or disconnected? Are the bushings on the sway bar in good shape? This is what the anti-sway bar is for, after all, eliminating vehicle sway.

If not I highly recommend the Energy Suspension ones. Put them on my 4Runner and handles much, much better. They are stiffer than stock so allow even less movement.

All sway bars are connected and have yet to really inspect the bushings. However I have been thinking about replacing all the bushings in the rear end just because they are all original. This might hold some weight for me if you experienced them helping out your handling I might have to give them a shot.

Agreed. Still a good idea to keep the bumper from kissing sheetmetal. I was just saying it likely won't cure the OP's problem.

I agree with that. I have had my body hit the bumper a couple times so I should probably get on replacing those.

Im curious to hear how it goes. Hopefully it can cure some of the issue. What size tire are you at now vs are going to on Friday? I have been wanting to go to 285s but now with this going on I am worried that more sidewall will just make it worse.
