So when I was at the Washington DC auto show a few weekends ago I talked to a representative from the NHTSA. I explained the situation with our front calipers, more exactly the one piston freezing up which in turn not only made the rears wear down quicker, but could also result in longer stopping distances (I definitly noticed that one). He said that since all of their investigations are customer driven, that we need to fill out a form on thier site to see if they would start an investigation. It isnt guaranteed, but it wont hurt. Lets get toyota to do something about this issue, instead of shelling out $600+ every few years. I already filled one out, so lets get crackin! It doesnt take that long.

This is what I wrote for a description:
While driving I noticed that my front ABS would not activate in an emergency situation. Braking distances became a lot longer. When I went to replace my front brakes, I discovered that the front lower brake piston had frozen. It was the same for both sides. Took it into the shop, and they said the same thing. Had to have the caliper replaced on both sides for a total of $750. This is the same thing that has happened to many other owners, which can be found on www.t4r.org.
