Sounds like if the press switch doesnt do the trick your next step would be the pump or running thicker oil this was a problem with the chrysler Sebring v6 motors when the water pump goes bad because its driven by the timing chain it will fill the crankcase full of coolant and even after the repair you have to run a thicker oil because the coolant washed everythung down and caused enough wear to the oil pump to make insufficient pressure

UPDATE;

Had the head gaskets done - new water pump, pulleys, and other assorted 'while we were in there' kinda stuff...

Mind me asking, for the record, what you paid for the HG portion of the work? Toy dealer or elsewhere?

A buddy of mine did it for me. Ran me just about $1100 ($450 in parts, the rest labor)
