To slide or not? Fridge help please

I am ordering an ARB or Indel fridge shortly, does anyone know if these will open fully with no slide (Arb50L or Indel TF51) in the back of the 4runner? I'd like to avoid a slide if possible until I decide if I want drawers later...

I know the arb lid is removable, just not sure if it needs to open up first.

Edit: Got a return call that the TF41 is just under 38" with the lid open and 51 is just over 41"

anyone with an ARB 50 with open height measurements would be appreciated.

It'll open enough to access items inside, not sure about fully open without holding it though. Someone with this setup may be better to answer.

I've got mine on a DFG Tilt slide, but on top of 11" drawers.

My Dometic opens from the side, however, I still have a slide. My advice, if you are going to get one, just get it all together once.

It would depend on whether you have a 3rd row or not, deck height is different.

Arb extended fridge slide fits like a glove with the second row up, for what it’s worth.

I have the ARB 50 Q and it will open enough to access the items in the back but it will not open all the way. The hinged lid is actually designed to easily remove and re-attach the lid and I do this often even with the slide. I made a low profile platform and fixed the slide to it and I really like this setup. It was just too hard to see and reach in to the fridge after my 3" lift without a slide out.

My Della (Dometic) opens from either side (the short way) - meaning you can tilt open the lid either way by using one latch, or pull both handles and remove the lid entirely if you want access. IMO that's better than holding it open and makes access easy even in limited space. It's a better mousetrap for non-slide use. If you don't want to slide it out - I would buy a fridge with a top lid that comes off completely.

Arb 50 on Arb slide, no third row. Opens plenty tall to reach in but doesn’t hold open. Extended obviously clears room for it to open fully.

a fridge slide will make your life a whole lot better but its not necessary. If you have the cash for the fridge but not the slide, by all means get the fridge. The fridge by itself is worth it.

I prefer no slide with my fridge to keep it lower than my 2nd rows seat back height to not interfere with my view. I also did a 3rd row delete though which is now a compartment which the fridge sits on top of and fastens down to with the arb straps for a fast and easy removal

Thank you all for the replies - went with ARB 50 and am looking forward to it. Biggest selling point for me other than the wife likes how it looks in the case was the removable lid, which if anyone doesn't know can be removed without opening fully.

I like the idea of the slides but am just not a fan of loosing space to permanent drawers or slide mount when I don't need the fridge in the truck. I may add the 5.5" rolling drawers over winter.

The rig is starting to get wayyyy too heavy with all the recent updates. Will take the penalty of 1-2 seconds to actually have to reach in to get my food/drinks.

Nice. I have an order for the ARB Element 63qt, but debating between that, the Dometic CFX-65W, or the a 50qt. I'd want to put it on one of these on a Easy Slide ES-150 PLUS (CLEARVIEW EASY SLIDE: ES-150 PLUS) sitting on top of a drawer setup.

Sparky, your fridge is the first I've seen with a slider mounted to the floor without any sort of plate, have you had any issues with this? Does the weight of the fridge pull up the floor base when the slide is extended?
