To those that have ran both LC and OME coils...

I currently have OME 890's in the rear. Its my daily driver and I do a lot of commuting and the 890's seem pretty harsh. I carry a small Delta toolbox in the back with apprx 50lbs worth of stuff.

Are the LC coils a night and day difference from the OME ones? I read that a lot of people like the 890's and feel they ride well, but I have a hard time with this. It gets somewhat annoying everytime I hit a pothole, bump, or expansion joint in the freeway.

I was originaly turned off on the LC coils as they gave too much lift, but after doing more research it looks like the 7 wraps only give 3 - 3.5"s of lift which is perfect as I have the OME 881's and TO spacers in the front and like the level stance.

Would I be much happier if I ditched the OME springs and went with LC ones, or is the not enough of a difference to hassle with it?

definitely. I have run 891s before on a past 4runner and I just threw on some LC's on my current one and it's a lot softer. Plus you can find the LC coils for around 50 bucks.
 
you'll be fine with 50lbs on the back of LC springs. i usually have an 80lb sub and box and extras in my cargo area.

i previously had 891s. i loved them.

LCs...too soft, but you'll be fine.
 
I just made this swap, and love my 8 wraps! The ride is super compared to the 890's, but I've got some rake....the 7 wraps might be more to your liking!
 
ya its the front of an LC80 but if ur willing to make the trip up there just email the guy and see if he can give u the color code since its pretty hard to see them in the pic.

If so, are these 7 wraps? I cant really tell the color combo on them. I could pick them up, but its a 3 hr drive and I am not sure if its worth the trek.

the only "double" color codes are double purple 8 wrap and double pink 7.5 wrap.

so yeah, they should be good for your runner. you looking to replace your OME with the LC coils? looks like those are the same ones that FoneRunner is running,

I also think that the "purple" and "pink" are both purple, some people just thought they were pink.
 
I had the 890's for about a year before getting the SS1.2 kit with the LC springs. The ride difference is not night and day, but it is better (softer). Good luck.
