took off my skid plate and i found this thing...

so i took off my skid plate today thinking i would need it off to replace my starter contacts.

after i took off the skid plate..looking from the front ..there were these 2 circle things that looked like spark plug gappers..they were bolted onto the frame..(i think) or the arm that connects the wheel to the frame (i think) however, they had tick marks around it..and it looked like one was aliged correct...but the other one was kinda off..like it was a little left.

sorry coulnt take pics but does anyone know what this is?

Pretty sure those are your adjustments for when you are performing an alignment on your vehicle. I am trying to remember whether it is caster, camber, or toe. Anyways, it would probably be best not to change anything unless your on an alignment rack. :lookout:

They are indeed part of the alignment system, and they actually work on all three dimensions. They primarily effect the camber when the front and rear are adjusted equally, but can impact the toe when adjusted individually.

As you can see in this pic, they have an off-center bolt attached to the plate, so they act like a cam when the plate is rotated and make the lower control arm move inboard or outboard as needed.
