Oh man, that brings back such great memories. Back in '84, the year after we got married, we drove my '76 F150 to Alaska as far north up the pipeline haul road as we could get at the time, near the Brooks Range, 100 miles north of the Arctic circle. I've never felt such a sense of awesome space and emptiness; just thinking about the fact that in either direction right or left there was no civilization for 300 miles was truly humbling, a bit sobering, but also exhilarating.
I'd encourage anyone to make a trip like that at least once in their life.

Thanks everyone. The trip is amazing, and I can also recommend everyone to take it.
The road is actually quite decent, you can do 80-90kph on most of it. Just need to watch out as rough bits come out of nowhere and can bite.
The temps were quite balmy, above freezing for the most part.
The truck is completely stock aside from tires, which are Nitto Terra Grappler G2, stock size. They did very well, 1500km ish of gravel with no flats, although I was fairly careful and was driving rather slowly.

Great pictures. Expedition Overland had an episode of Yukon Territory, this road probably is the same one those guys drove through
