I still prefer the British version... a little ribbing doesn't get me worked up. I find it amusing (yes, predictable, but that's part of why it doesn't bother me). I tried to stomach the US version and its just bad. Get some neat cars, interesting interviews, and half naked chicks and it's really hard to screw that up, but they did.

I finally saw the premiere of the US Top Gear. It is still improving, and there were definitely some funny moments. The host chemistry still seems a little too forced though, but hopefully that will continue to get better over time.

My two favorite Top Gear specials are the Bolivia one and the Vietnam one. Now those were epic. Especially the Bolivia one, since one of the vehicles they used was a Land Cruiser :bigok:

I definitely agree that getting rid of Adam and replacing him with a bunch of half-naked chicks would be a dramatic improvement. :boink:

In what scenario is that NOT an improvement?

I think anyone who knows anything about cars is going to have a bias against american cars. They should also know that most of the best performance cars come out of Europe. I think anyone claiming the US version as being 'as good' or better has some pretty thick bias of their own going.

That being said, Clarkson has spoken quite highly of some models of Ford's but IIRC his Ford GT gave him quite a few problems. I guess I dont see it as bias because IMO the vast majority of American cars are crap! ;P (or at least not something that I would buy)

The U.S. version has gotten better. Adam still isn't funny though. Still no match for the U.K. version.
