im back! here she is!
fianally got all the cancer out. took a week of cutting out rust, welding in new steel, bonding, and touching up paint. i didnt paint the whole rig if u cant tell lol. after i wear out these 32's id like to get a 6 inch lift but want to fabricate 4 link as apposed to bigger springs...and sugjestions? also all i did was change the oil, and new fuel, and put in a new battery and she fired right up. (after sitting 8 years uncovered). she passed smog on her first try. evey thing works great. my only problem is that some times i have a hard time getting it to rev up. itll bog for a sec when i apply gas but after i get the rpms up itll go just fine. again...it dosnt do it all the time. i figure new plugs wires and fuel filter will cure it. but do u guys think it may be an o2 censor? its not a daily driver....just a toy so its no biggi. i get around trails fine. just a pain although it happens very rareley. just to clerify.... once in a while when im taking off it seems to load up and will stutter like its outa gas untill the rpms pick up and then it will be fine for a few days. it never dose it after shes been ran a bit. thanks for your opnions. p.s. i decided to buy new wheels and tires. went with the cheap black steel and the not so cheap 32 1150 15 bfg mudders. wheels and tires cost as much as the rig!

stock paint. i just touched up where i welded in new steel. hence the missing pin strip section. any one have any ideas on my stuttering problem?

That is one sweet looking ride.
Have you checked for any CEL codes? I doubt it is your O2 sensor but it wouldn't be a bad idea to check/replace it at this point. I would check for codes and see if it it is throwing a TPS of AFM code. I don't remember what codes they are off the top of my head. One thing I would do for sure with a vehicle that has been sitting for that long is run some Seafoam through your intake via the brake booster line and also in the gas tank.

copy that. i did empty the gas take and added fuel inj cleaner and refilled the tank. i dont know if any codes will show since i dont think the light comes on but if it happens again ill check. im starting to think it may have just been a blow the carbon out stupid, thing since it aint done it in a few days... as for the inside.... the carpet was rotted so i pulles all the crap out prepped the floor and did the roll on hurculiner all the way throung. i also did up the sides in the back. the azz sags like a bas**** so i guess ill add a helper spring till i lift it. i also just noticed that im leaking a few drops a week of front diff fluid out of the knuckles. damn seals.... im a toy noob so id like your guyses opnion on suspension as well. i have always owned jeeps and have sold all but my 55 willys my gpa bought new. is it worth it to buy a 4 inch lift from say fabtech? and iff the rear sags as bad as mine dose id need front and rear springs right? not just rear and swap back to front? and how much of an advantage would going with a 3 or 4 link be on the rocks? allthough shes gona see alot more mud then rocks... thanks for your input.

every one be very quiet! toy 93's a cop!:hello: lol. jk my gradpas a retired sheriff. much respect. allthough i dont get nearly as many breaks as i did before he retired. damn them young cops...by the way thats one bad azz looking 4runner! im tryen to figure out how to get a better look at it through your profile. not seein it as of yet...

Haha! I'm in an um-marked car, how did you notice?! Nice job on the 4R, and a quick pic of mine so you don't have to squint:

Now back on topic!

Sea foam in the break booster cleans out the throttle body and vacuum lines. Careful, it might smoke a little bit. Haha.

Rears up front are a good option for a little more flex out of your front end, YOu have a lot of options, do some searching youll find alot of information out there.

The advantage of links in the the rocks are more articulation then leafs when done properly, and better departure angles. Youll probably be fine with leafs.

Truck looks good, cant wait to see what you do with it. And know that the rear fenders are cut about 2" lower than the fronts, making the back seem worse than it really is.

And pull those goofy nerf bars off. Haha.

i found the stuttering problem. i was runnen the dog on the river bar and it died out of nowhere. then it refired and went fine. i parked it and went to bed. i awoke at 4 am to go to work to find a dead 4runner. i went in and got a new fuel filter wich it needed badley but it still didnt start. i almost gave up but decided to trace the wire to the pump and found a bad spot. shes good to go....

can i get some details on your 85? im gona start builden mine this winter seeing how i run heavy equipment in the summer and collect unemployment all wiinter!!!

Too pretty. Haha! It sees some, but nothing too rough. I didn't really intend for it to turn out so shiny, but the painter/bodyman was a perfectionist (which isn't bad!) so now it sees light duty.
