Torn on what to buy

This is all I have been able to get so far. Today I degreased the engine as much as I could and I also removed the running boards.

What color is it? Is it Desert Dune? There are so many variants of gold/silver on the 4Runners I can't tell..

Congratulations. Lets ride some where. I hear URE will open back up early this year.

Let me know if you want to slip a UZ motor in there. It would go well with all that degreasing your doing....

Yeah, I have a Jeep friend who wants to go on March 31st which is supposed to be opening weekend. I don't really feel like going on the busiest weekend of the year. We definitely need to go sometime, though. Need to see how that V8 Runner does on the trails.

I'm going to have to find some tires first, though.
 
I like it. I love the contrast between the Silver paint and black bumpers. Reminds me of my 03 SR5 (Natural White with the cladding, with I might plasti dip or use this dye I found).
Enough about mine, use LA's Totally Awesome (I buy it from the dollar tree/ Family dollar for well… a dollar. Lol) works wonders on brake dust, engine degreasing, tire cleaning, using it around the house, etc)

Thanks for the suggestion. I used Simple Green today and it worked ok, but some of the thicker oil on the valve covers is still there. I'd like to get it as clean as possible before I start tearing into it.

Get you a aerosol can of engine degreaser from wal-mart, go to a car wash, spray your soiled areas down with engine degreaser and pressure wash away.

Super easy and quick.

As for the Valve cover, just tighten them up. The might have loosened up over the years.

I just finished up my valve cover gaskets / tune-up stuff. Torquing down the VC bolts from the prior owner is what cracked my cover itself. Be cautious - FSM says to torque them to 53 in/lbs.

I'm also interested in a NC ride!
 
We need to put one together this spring. I need some new tires first, but that should be coming within the next few weeks. :)
