Torquing on Acceleration and Deceleration

2000 Toyota 4Runner torques on acceleration and deceleration.... most noticeable when above 50mph... torques to the right when accel, to the left when letting off the pedal.... replaced upper and lower ball joints figuring that might be the issue at 160k miles on truck.... didn't help. all suspension parts appear in good shape... it feels like an axle issue? it's a limited slip diff and it has been making some pinion gear whirl in the past.... I have used the truck to pull a 3500lb boat a few times over the last few summers.... ideas?

yeah well... thought I was.... I know what gen my truck is... most likely I clicked too close to 3rd and 4th and it took 4th and I failed to double check as I daily forget to do these days in our imperfect world.... my bad... thanks for the help.

maybe make sure your radiator is not leaking into the transmission line. I heard that is an issue with your gen 4runner

I guess I don't understand what is meant by 'torques'.

Could it the motor and transmission mounts be shot...and the drivetrain is trying to leave the body???

The acceleration part sounds like Torque steer found in FWD cars. Not sure what would be the cause in your T4R though. Maybe CV axle slipping on one side?

I reposted under the correct generation - 3rd... all thoughts welcome though.... it's baffling to me.... all suspension parts look in good order... doesn't happen during braking... only accel and decel.. body is rolling to right when accel, then back to left when let off the gas.... seems an issue on back left or front right but looking under there all over the place!!!

Did you check your brakes? Could be something going on there, just a thought.

posted in 3rd gen..... was a rear control arm bushing... had to keep looking and bend my eyes around stuff but I finally found it... thanks for the suggestions....
