Total Vehicle Height- Gobi Stealth,Icon Lift and 285 70 17. Will it fit in garage?

I've seen a couple threads where this has been discussed. However, nothing recent or definitive.

I'm having my Icon Stage 2 lift installed the first week of June. I already have some BFG 285 70 17 tires sitting in my garage waiting to be installed along with the lift. I also ordered a Gobi Stealth rack which should be delivered sometime in July.

My Garage opening is 81" to the weather seal. Can anyone give me some reassurance that I will be able to fit the truck in the garage? I've seen plenty of similar setups out there and I would love it if you guys could reply with some real-life height measurements and or experiences with your rides.

The Gobi spec sheet says that the height measures out to 77" on a stock 4runner. The lift will add 2.5"-3" and the tires will add < 1" of height. This tells me that it should fit with maybe 1" margin of error.

The gobi stealth alone adds 8" inches. The length of the vehicle is like 17ft.

Everyones height varies, lift, tires, etc.

Mine fits even with Maxtrax on top. Standard garage too.

This is somewhat reassuring. The only remaining concern is that my garage opening is only 6'9". I did a mock up with cardboard and I'm okay if I add 12" of height to the vehicle. 8" for the Gobi, then 4" for lift and tires. Seems as though I'll fit without much room to spare.

Although these answers are exactly what I wanted to hear, I'll be sweating this until the moment of truth comes in July

When they say a Gobi rack adds 8", does that mean 8" higher than the stock rack, or higher than with no rack at all? 'Cause it sure doesn't look like it's that much higher than the stock rack.

I've researched this. It adds 8" to the roofline of the vehicle. The stock rack is removed to install the Gobi. So the Stealth is 8" above the roof of the vehicle at its highest point (the front light bar).

I think the stock rack is about 4-5 inches tall at its highest point, so the Gobi adds 3-4 inches net.

Mine fits only by a few inches. Honestly, I don't know how tall my garage door opening is, I've never cared to measure.

You should be fine if it's a standard garage door opening. I run 285s and a gobi rack as well, only difference is I have the stage 5 kit. Garages are nice, but I know if I go up to even the next size tire I'll be parking outside. At that point, it is what it is.

There's just some garages you won't be able to get into. Thems the breaks.

Get a Moped if that's a deal breaker. Or don't lift.

I'd also look into outdoor parking. Ran into an issue where the garage I usually park at in Charleston wouldn't work with my 4runner, so I drove over to the next block and parked on the street.

I know it's easier in some cities, but that extra time looking for a spot is better than the extra time it'll take picking up your roof rack off of the ground.

I travel a ton for work in my 4R, mainly to cities. It seems like every garage is 6'10". Same thing... barely fits. The changing of levels can be nerve racking too given the angle of approach. I've rubbed twice thankfully without any (major) damage. I constantly have to wave people around me in garages because despite clearing one beam, i'm still 2mph'ing the next...

It happens. I generally know where I can and can't park here in Portland.

I'm jealous of the people who live in Apt's with 8' garages. Hence why I don't have a RTT.

Is this an option or that just another way to refer to the standard Stealth Rack?
