My 4runner is gone... someone ran into my lane thursday and smashed the whole drivers side and ripped the axle out from underneath it... sorry no pics i was to upset to take pictures of it. I will still be on the site though I am looking for an 06 sport model right now... It always seems like when I get a vehicle just like I want it someone else smashes it up. On the bright side insurance is paying me $9200 for my 2000 4Runner with 140k miles on it.

oh man...sorry to hear....hope you're okay

on the bright side, 9200 bucks is an insane payment! I can't see a '00 runner being worth that much, even in showroom condition. Definately more than you could've sold it for...good luck with the 06!

Sucks to hear that man, glad you're okay though... and I'll be lucky to get that much for my 2002 with similar mileage when I sell it, which is going to be pretty soon

WHAT?!?!? Why are you selling your runner?

And sorry to hear that its totalled, I bet you will enjoy the new 06 just as much if not more!

glad to hear it all worked out for you, good luck on finding the 06.

for everyone thinking that's a lot for a 00 model year, take a look at what it would cost to replace that vehicle right now.

if the absurdly long link doesn't work, pull the auto trader listing up for 92336, and take a look at the prices around here on the late model 3rd gens, its about right in line w/ his payout. Obviously different areas of the country will vary on pricing some.

Exactly. Insurance companies love ignorance and will bend you over if given the opportunity. $9200 is a fair payment if that is what is actually being paid. If it's $9200 minus the deductible, I would negotiate for a higher payout. In pocket cash should be no less than 9K for such a well maintained '00 SR5. Good Luck and hope you find the right '06!

I have another car that I autocross (Acura RDX) which could also be my DD but since gas prices had gone down I could then afford to drive more than one car but now with gas prices rising I'm considereing getting something more economical for my day to day driving.. I love my 4R don't get me wrong, but the less I use it the more I'll be tempted to purchase another car

P.S. LINY, I tried sending you a reply, but your inbox is full

I am fine thanks for asking my elbow and back are a lil sore but im gonna be ok.. as for the payout im happy with it.. I provided receipts for all the crap i had added on thinking they would give me more but it didnt work... they payed me a lil extra for my hood and leather seats. My truck was in immaculate condition, and I dont think I would have been able to replace it. I was there when the adjuster came out and he was like damn that was a nice truck I said I know that is my baby! It was still beading water on the wrecked panels in the towing yard!

I got a line on an 06 Charcoal grey with grey leather and a sunroof right now.. hope it all works out.
