Where can you buy a tow strap locally? Are these sold at auto parts sores or do I need a 4x4 shop?

Any recommended brands for tire gauges?

sorry as far a stire guages go with "Milton"
unless you want one of those fancy digital jobs

Do you want a TOW strap or or a RECOVERY (snatch) strap ?
Big difference, although they look similar.
I'd stay away from the "tow" straps at parts chains, Wally World, etc.

Get a good one from Keeper, Pro-Comp, etc. from a 4x4 shop or on-line.

4Wheel Parts frequently has good sales on Pro-Comp straps.

I guess I want a recovery strap. What else will I need to connect it to my 4runner? I'll look for a local 4x4 shop.

Just ordered the Pro-Comp 3"x30" Recovery Strap - 30,000lb for $34, couldn't beat it local.

I ordered a tow-hitch adapter. Can this be locked in to prevent it from being stolen, or do you put it in for just the few minutes you will use it.

Do a Google search for trailer hitch receiver lock. There are lots of them for a wide range of prices. I have and use one.

AKODA you have the answer to your strap question ! I also have 2 PRO COMP 3x30 straps and they can't be beat for the money ! Not to mention that they are very reliable. I am sure that you wont regret it ! Mine have been used a ton of times and the show no signs of needing replacement ! Good choice ! They have all the other goodies that you may need to go along with it too !

I just put it in when needed. Figured I didn't want anyone trying to steal the shackle.
