Hi. Looking for feedback for 4th Gen owners who have installed the Toy Tech 3" Ultimate lift. I have searched this forum and decided this might be the way to go Love my truck but shocked how much the ground clearance has shrunk over the years. I do some moderate off road driving. Mainly to camping and fishing spots here in the North East. How is the before and after ride. I don't mind a little stiffer ride, and I am assuming with the lift installed you may reduce some body roll. Any brake line extensions, diff drops etc involved in addition to the lift kit? I plan on running a slightly larger tire. 265/70/17 AT tires. Any issuses with rubbing with this lift and that size tire? Any recommendations on tires that will handle the snow in this part of the country. I am eyeballing the Cooper discover AT3 or the Firestone Destination AT tired. Appreciate any and all feedback and experiences

Since no one with a 4th gen has replied, I will (3rd gen). I run the ToyTec coilovers. I also have installed the Ultimate on 4th gens, FJC and 5th gens. Most say that the Ultimate will ride better than stock. My opinion is that it does. The Ultimate coilovers have stiffer coils than stock but are longer so they ride better and flex better. The Bilsteins out perform other factory style shocks.
Also the rear cols are taller so they ride and flex better.

I too am researching this lift. From what i have learned if you buy the kit from Toytec there are some diff drop spacers that come with it for the 4x4 models. I have read that people are very happy with this lift. I would recommend getting a set of aftermarket upper control arms to use the full potential of those coil overs, they will also allow you to dial in the alignment better. As for clearing the 265/70's you should be completely in the clear. Check out the Suspension Options thread here for more info on lift and tire size:

I have a 4th Gen with Ulti lift and love it. I'd recommend it with the diff drop.
I know alot of 4th Gen owners that have it and love it too. Customer service from Toytec has also been excellent for me.
The tire size I can't help you with but I have 285 70 17 with Spidertrax spacers and lots of fun trimming so they wouldn't rub.
I haven't put any brake lines yet but I prob will because since I offroad I don't want to stress the brake lines but has NOT been a prob so far. I am going to buy the Toytec Panhard bar (DOM, adjustable). Reason is lifting the runner I have some not good sway on the highway and research shows this may be the culprit. But thats another topic.

One of the Toyota dealers showcases the Toytec Ultimate lift at their parts department.
We put the ultimate lift on our FJ and I plan on putting it on my 4Runner when the XREAS fail.
I have not heard anything bad about Toytec and I know they support their product and appreciate their customers.

The sway is in the rear but there no adjustment there, only the fronts are adjustable. If you research Toy Ulti Lift, prob no 2 4R's have the same setting on their lift as each truck is an individual.
Can't say anything about the Ultimate kit, but I had the Radflo kit installed about 3 weeks ago on my '06 sport.
Shop removed the stock Xreas and installed the Radflo. I have noticed a little more side body roll compared to stock. It seems to handle as good as stock, seems to absorb bumps a little better then stock.
I purchased from Toytec, would say they are good to go.

I have the ultimate lift with 265/70/17 and there isn't any rubbing at all with that size tire. The lift comes with a diff drop as well as a front swaybar relocate. As far as brake line extensions I don't have them I never noticed any problems. I also have the shrockworks bumper as well when I put it on it lowered the front about an inch but the coils in front are adjustable so you can stiffen up the front suspension if you like. For tires I live in the northeast as well and I would recommend either a Goodyear duratrac or a Bfg all terrain Both do decent on and offroad and they are rated for snow.

toytec does sell different rate springs, just call them Im sure they will be happy to answer all your questions, they have answered all my questions every time Ive called, very nice and polite people there :beer:

I have an 08 with the Ulti lift and I love it. Removed the XREAS for this. I think it feels more stable than before. Its great for the off roading I do and good on the highway. Just came back from a roadtrip down I-81 and it performed flawlessly in the mountain roads at speeds of 75-85. Im running the Cooper AT3 in 275/65/18. I do have some rubbing at full lock.
I have had my Toytec Ultimate lift on now for about 2,000 miles and love it. The ride is SO much better than stock. I have Cooper ST-C in the 255/85R16 size and there are rubbing issues. I am going to get a set of UCAs in about a month. That will help with the alignment also.

I just put the Toytec Ultimate on my '06 last weekend! I still have to adjust my front ride height and get an alignment, but the short test trips up and down my street felt fantastic! There are a couple of severe dips on a cross-street that really highlight the difference... I can't wait to get the alignment done and really start driving this again!!
After all of the research that I've done and from my very short real world experience with it so far, the Toytec Ultimate lift is a great set-up. I installed Light Racing UCA's at the same time to help get some caster angle back and to help a little with flex.

I have the Ultimate installed on my wife's 05 Sport. We have about 5000 miles with the new setup. I also installed the light racing upper control arms at the same time. We are running Nitto Terra Grapplers 295/70R17. There is rubbinng at full lock. I have removed both the front and rear swaybars, so the stability is not the same as before, but I expected that. I will be installing the 1 inch body lift in the coming month. We love the lift kit, and are very happy with the crew over at toytec. I hope this helps. :bluejump:
