Toyota 3.4l V6 head gasket, timing belt, water pump Comprehensive Parts List

I'm getting ready to do the head gaskets on my 96 elocked 5speed.

Misfire in cyl 3 after losing a coolant hose and mild temp gauge top out when parked and left running for a minute. Eek! Parked it and had it towed. I'm prepared for a new head if needed but I hope it doesn't come to that. Sigh.... i love this truck.

So far i'm assembling an OEM parts "kit" and placing the parts numbers here. Toyota doesn't offer a complete kit like amazon and ebay sellers.

Please let me know if I'm missing anything crucial in the rebuild. I did everything from the valve cover gaskets upwards as of last fall. Hoping to only redo the valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals when i'm in there again. If i need all fresh seals and parts let me know. I want this thing to LAST awhile.

Thanks for any input and hopefully this can become a usable parts list for those doing the job in the future. I hadn't seen an OEM "kit" list around yet. I'll edit any additional info into the original post.

Here is what i have so far from the Camelback Parts (parts.camelbacktoyota.com) Is there a better source and/or prices anywhere that ya'll suggest for this stuff? I guess Toyota of Dallas (www.toyotaofdallas.com) is a good one also.

90910-02077 head bolts (x16)

17173-62050 - MANIFOLD gasket x2 *upper

17177-62060 lower intake manifold gasket x2 (both sides L and R same part#)

13505-62070 - Idler pulley #1: x1
3.4 LITER

13503-62040 - Idler pulley #2: x1
3.4 LITER

13540-62021 - TIMING TENSIONER x1

16100-69398-83 - Water pump x1 (check to make sure gasket included or need to buy)
3.4 LITER

90080-91090-83 - Alternator belt x1
3.4 LITER

90080-91126-83 - P/S belt x1
3.4 LITER

99364-20870-78 - AC belt x1
3.4 LITER

11213-62020 - Valve cover gasket x2 (right and left are the same if i remember correctly. double check)
3.4 LITER,

90210-05007 Valve Cover Washer Seals (the 16 bolts that hold the valve cover down these are the washers with rubber in them) x16

11193-70010 Spark plug tube gasket x6

11188-62010-Camshaft housing Plug (big round plug on back of the head) x2

12204-62010 PCV Valve x1

90480-18001 PCV Grommet x1

00295-00103 - Trans pan sealer x1 or x2 for spare tube
3.4 LITER "Black FIPG GASKET SEALER"

84261-08041 Knock sensor sub harness (often recommended because of movement, corrosion, and damage?)

00272-SLLC2 TOYOTA PINK COOLANT (check manual for amounts and flush procedure)

90919-01192 spark plugs x6

1717362050 exhaust manifold gasket x2

90917-06083 exhaust crossover pipe gasket x2

96741-19005 Small O-rings for dip stick if removed as seen in the video series linked above

Gasket remover tool

Intake cleaner

Gonna call the shop back and get all the details. I just looked at the work order and it didn't have compression numbers listed. I don't have a compression test kit as of now. Might need to grab one. Any decent ones people recommend?
 
im new on here. i just created my new account. although i have been reading here for a little while, i decided to join in because there is a lot of knowledgable people on here. anyway, i dont want to hijack someone elses thread by asking a question about mine so how can i post a question on here thats not on someone elses thread/question?

Welcome! I'd surf the FAQs first to see if the question has been covered already so as not to repost. The "start new thread" button on the top left of the main 3rd gen page will start a new topic and/or question for you. Feel free to private message me if you have other questions.

i have searched the threads for my question. because i was hoping someone else had the same problem and i could try some of the advice that was given. but unfortunately, no one had the same problem.
 
Holy Coincidence, Batman!! You just gave me the list I was looking for. Thank you. I'm about to start a major project to repair my 98 4Runner from what I believe is a leaky head gasket and you just gave me 90% of the items I was looking for in terms of what to replace while I'm in there repairing the head gasket. I, like you and everyone on this forum, love my truck and I will fight fiercely before I let it go. Ha.. Once again, thanks for your post and your detailed list. You've changed my life. *wipes tear* ha..

Nothing fancy. I have one with a QD for my gauge and a simple pressure relief button. Autozone, O, O, O Reileys, Napa, Craftsman...

Yeah, one of the most annoying things is trying to make sure you order ALL of the correct parts. The list is in the making and i'm sure more additions will be made. Make sure to check how many of each item you'll need to do both sides of the engine during the rebuild. If you see any notes like "valves cover gaskets x2" "head bolts x16" or "be sure to get left and right sides as they are different part numbers" etc. Let me know. I want this to be a solid reference as these trucks are getting up in miles and I'm sure more people will be rebuilding and repairing in the coming years.
 
Added additional parts #s and cleaned up the formatting. Let me know if you guys have anything to add to the list.

I'm looking for the part number to the "Knock sensor sub harness " if anyone can help out.

edit: got it. 84261-08041 Knock sensor sub harness. Added to OP.

Added some parts numbers to the list. Take note if you're putting an order together. Double and triple check. :)
 
90919-01192 SPARK PLUGS
00272-SLLC2 TOYOTA PINK COOLANT

Put a dash in between every 5 numbers to break them up. on 12 digits dashes after 1st 5 and second 5

Got it all cleaned up in the OP. Thanks for all the help! Hope it's all complete now.
