Toyota 4Runner 3rd-Gen Color Code Chart

Limited trim

Do you (or anyone) know what the color code/name for the silver limited trim that came on white 1999s? Or if there is even a name for it?
Greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: The dark Grey Metallic that the 96-98 4Runners came with is Toyota code 156. The 96-98 4Runners only had two color options for the cladding and flares. One was the above listed 156 and the second is a silver Metallic code 181.

That is good info, I will add that to the site tomorrow.

You mean the Silver cladding? Like the photo below? Check the chart on page one... it should be Silver, code 181.

I must be an idiot, because the information in my driver side door does not make sense to me. Is the "KQ" supposed to tell me something? I don't see it on the chart of 4Runner paint codes, so I have been just calling my 4Runner "silver".

I am colorblind, which is why this desire to know exactly what color my vehicle was started in the first place.

Here is a pic of what I have:

Thats the tire chart , there must be another sticker with the paint codes and trim codes on it . Unless its been removed .

I didn't consider that there could have been a second one (that maybe isn't there now).

Would there be any other possible locations aside from the driver's door?

Its not on the door , its on the pillar right by where the latch is . Least thats where it is on my 98 .

So I'm confused by the chart. I have desert dune with silver cladding but the chart doesn't match up with the cladding.

C/TR - 1A5/LJ45 vs 1A5/181?

What's up with the discrepancy? Or what am I misunderstanding?

Thanks!

Yes, in 1996 only the body color was listed on the label. In 1999 Toyota started putting a special two-tone code that indicated both the paint and the flare color.

Exact manufacturer and product line for '97 4Runner paint?

Does anyone know the exact manufacturer and product line of the paint used on the 1997 4Runner? Not even the Toyota/Lexus dealers around here use the original manufacturer paint. Anyone can match the color, but if it is not the same manufacturer and product line you won't get the same tone, shine, reflection, texture, etc., and you'll be able to notice it has been re-painted.

i apologize if this has been answered already, but i did some quick searching and i didnt see it. are there numbers for how many were released in each year of each color?

thank you OP for making the chart.

Bringing up an old thread...... but I just ordered touch-up paint for my 4Runner. I thought that I would never find this color in a touch-up bottle.

Glacier Metallic Blue

Cheers!

99 4Runner SR5 I need some touch up paint but no clue what to buy. Here is the label on inside of the door with info. Registration shows tan but very vague. Can anyone help please ?
