Toyota announces global recall of 6.39 million vehicles

Saw this on Foxnews.com. Does not appear to include 4Runners but something to keep an eye on.

"Some vehicles were recalled for more than one problem. The recall cases total 6.76 million vehicles for 27 Toyota models, the Pontiac Vibe and the Subaru Trezia, produced from April 2004 through August 2013.

Subaru is partly owned by Toyota, and the model was the same as the Toyota Vitz.

For the recall, Toyota also reported problems with seat rails, the bracket holding the steering column in place, the windshield-wiper motor and a cable attached to the air-bag module.

The recalls affect a large range of models, including the Corolla, RAV4, Matrix, Yaris, Highlander, and Tacoma."

From USA today: "Toyota says two of the recalls affect vehicles in North America and that neither is linked to any crashes or injuries. They are:

•A cable to the driver air bag module can be damaged by the steering wheel, disabling the bag. This recall covers 1.67 million of the 2009-10 Corolla, 2009-10 Matrix, 2009-10 Pontiac Vibe, 2008-10 Highlander, 2009-10 Tacoma, 2006-08 RAV4 and 2006-10 Yaris. Of those, 1.3 million are in the U.S.
•Seat adjusters and springs that lock the seat into position could break. If the car is driven with them broken, the seat could move in a crash. This recall covers 670,000 of the 2006-10 Yaris Hatchback, 2007-10 Yaris sedan, 2008-10 Scion xD vehicles. Of those, 472,500 were sold in the U.S."

So yeah looks like t4rs are ok and hopefully those with the above are too! :banana:
