Toyota dealership charges to reprogram options?

I've also used Carista. I bought the iOS version and the Carista branded dongle and it worked just fine. I was modify everything I wanted to do on all my cars, not just the T4R. Using it on several cars was the selling point for me.

Used mine on a buddy's truck yesterday to check and reset some codes as well.

Just save yourself the time and money, plus its always nice to have a ODB2 scanner on hand. I leave mine plugged in for vehicle diagnostics on trips as well. Great cheap investment.

I have, and it worked flawlessly. I purchased the Carista Bluetooth module and obd adapter cable from Amazon and the Pro ap on Google Play, and I customized everything that I wanted to. I even disabled the annoying seat belt chimes !

Mine doesn't have a touchscreen, it's a 2011 SR5. I was able to do it on my wife's Camry because she has those options in the touchscreen

Don't need a touch screen, it is a combination of key position and using the door lock button. Of course the Carista Bluetooth device would be nice to have.

I combed through the manual and unless I missed it, the only thing I could find is to take it to the stealership to have those options reprogrammed

Yes, I actually did did it yesterday. I was sick of the seatbelt chime going off getting in and out of the vehicle on the trails so I turned them off, along with a few other random things.

Talk to the GM. I bet he would tell them to do it "no charge" once he knew you are a long time customer.
My dad knew the service manager at the Toyota place here. One day his camry timing belt broke, he was a few thousand outside of warranty coverage. They knew him as a long time customer and covered it under warranty.

You need to purchase 3 things.. the adapter, the cable, and the Pro ap. Forget the free trial it won't let you customize your vehicle settings

Yeah it definitely works. You do not have to buy the Carista hardware. I used this OBDII and just downloaded the 10$ IOS carista app to customize vehicle settings, and I use DashCommand for vehicle Diagnostics etc...

dang I just had dealer turn my lock/unlock chime down to volume2. He didn't charge, since I was there for something else. Could I have done that without a touch screen? Didn't see that in the manual, everything was dealer mods.

I think the things that you can do without touchscreen or OBD2 plus iOS app are limited. The only options that I saw that were customizable were door locks. The link to the online manual is further up this thread. More detailed than the physical manual

Any issues connecting the Carista app to the Panlong ODBII adapter?
The app won't recognize it.

To ensure that the adapter works, I installed the Torque app and was able to connect.
