Ah, well shit... My adapter is coming in today...
I believe that it is now a subscription service. Used to be one time payment, but now it is $10 for a week pass or $40/year. The one month trial is if you buy their $40 OBDII dongle. Most of the cheaper ones work, but for $40 and a month to make changes it is still cheaper than one visit to the dealer.

Obviously you didn't read the part where it says WiFi adapter needed for IOS. So those with WiFi only devices won't work.

I had no issues connecting to the Panlong adapter using the Carista app.
If I remember correctly, there was an option for the ELM327 OBDII within the carista app, I just selected that and it worked.
*** Edit: Just to confirm, I uninstalled the Carista app and reinstalled to restart the process. When prompted to choose my ODBII device, I chose the ELM327 (Even though I Have the Panlong OBDII) and it connected fine.

My dealer wanted to charge me an hour labor, like $130, to program a new smart key. I purchased the techstream cable and software for $20 and had it done in 5 minutes.
I guess I could see them charging for a half hour if that's their minimum, but an hour seems ridiculous for a 5 minute job.

According to Carista, the android version is not able to connect to wifi adapters.
I'm going to dig around the web to see if I can find an older version of the app (apk).

Have any friends with an iPhone you could possibly use to get it done?
Not adding anything to the Carista discussion, but thanks to this site, I knew to make the salesman put in the "We Owe" form that I get time in Techstream with the Tech.
Went to pick it up, told them what I wanted done, they ended up having to come get me and bring me back into the service bay to show them what to do. I tried to get them to real quick switch off the seat belt chime, but no dice.

Asked 4 friends and none have an extra iPhone laying around.
Need to double check my garage and make sure I don't have a Bluetooth ODBDII laying around.
