Toyota dealership put to much oil in, what do you think?

I didn't think that I would get some many responses on my issue when I posted this, so thanks for the responses because I think there have been very interesting points brought up on the subject. I mean we're talking about the life line of our trucks here, thats all. I think the main question that we're all floating around is, do we trust the dipstick for proper oil level or the manual/manufacture that states 6.5 with filter change, which apparently results in a high reading on the stick. Ok, GO.....

... I always end up throwing away half a quart or storing it for a year and then usually throw it away anyway to put a new bottle in. It's wasteful if nothing else....

I hope you meant recycle rather than "throw away". Better yet, how about buying 2 quarts every even year and one quart every odd year? That's easy to remember and the half quart carry over will not spoil.op2:
