Toyota E-locker?

I as just wondering how to tell an E-locked rear end from an open with out opening it up?

An E-locker is going to have a manual switch on the left side of the dash. Kind of by the dimmer switch. If you taking about a random axle laying around off the truck, then i have no idea. Maybe a line going in the housing to actuate the locker?

I have seen a couple for sale off the rig but all I really want is the locker. And I don't want to tare it open to find out.

The actuator on the diff housing is a big clue.

Here's a thread I made a while back where I found one in a junkyard. You can see the actuator in the 1st pic. A normal Toyota open diff is symmetrical and round.
