You have a good point. You dont need to touch the ipod once its connected.

I have my girls ipod shuffle hooked up too... using the aux inputs on the spectrum and when you hook devices up using the aux inputs you do not have the use of the controls on the wheel or stereo so you have to use the device controls.

But if you use the actual ipod cord that it comes with there is no need to touch the ipod.

I didnt think about the AUX input, but my 4runner had an AUX already in the center console... will i still be able to use this?

I am not sure on that one? YOu have a aux in the console already? was it factory or a mod? sounds cool.

its factory, very cool. it sits down there with the AC thing. THe sound is not very good from an ipod however so I was looking for a more direct route (ipod cable) and not just headphone input.

Nice iPod ya got there, I've got the exact some one! haha.

Anyways, do you know if the spectrum works with the stock radio in the SR5 4Runner? Since you've got the SE, I wasn't sure if there was any difference in radio (non-JBL, JBL, or NAV)

Also, how'd you run the wire from behind the head unit? Down behind the AC controls, then the pop out storage cubby, around the cup holders and gear shifter and then finally into the center console?

Hey all ... that Castulluci guy made the taking apart the dash and everything simple as 1 2 3! My IPOD rocks now !!!! I love how this thing integrated everything ..

I ran the wire through the back of the radio and down past the centerconsole into the console itself! I had to drill a tiny whole that lead into my middle console. YOU CAN NOT SEE THE HOLE. It is the perfect placement!

I LOVE IT ! NO MORE CDS!!!!! I will post pictures tommorrow!

The way I configured it, its for a 2008 4Runner w/ non-JBL factory radio w/o RDS (Radio Data System - which allows station and artist information to be displayed, otherwise known as the "Text" option). I was bummed to find out that since I don't the "text" button, track information won't show.
