But they aren't anywhere close to being hurt just as any of the other Japanese car manufacturers aren't having a major crisis.

Toyota's execs are a bit smarter and less oblivious. They'll weather this storm and get through it, I don't think they'll be asking the Japanese government for a bailout. The global economy and auto sales are down as a whole.

One thing that is really overlooked with this is the loss in just Toyota's automotive operations (and also only based on predictions, their fiscal year has yet to end) and through all their other investments they will still make money this year.
