Toyota red coolant

So I went to get some coolant from toyota today and they want $40 for one gallon. What has everyone else paid. I think that is a bit extreme and font plan on running it in my car. Just want to see how much the dealer here is ripping people off

I think it goes for around $25 here in Poorland, I mean Portland. Been a while since I have looked.

O'Reilly's has Zerex Asian for $15/gallon.

I've been using the green "any make or model" stuff for a couple years now with no bad side effects.

Thanks. Ya I'm not worried about it in my car but my spouse has a 97 3.4 and my dad had a 01 tundra that got green put in it and about a year later the head gasket went.( idk if its related or not but just don't want to risk it.) thanks guys for your responses.

Check various dealers too since they don't offer the same prices. I called one Toyota parts dept and they wanted $32 then I called the one I usually frequent and got it for $18/gal.

Which is why it's $40 a gallon, although Eugene is closer to 100 miles from you unless you're a fair bit on the other side of Bend. Still too far to drive for coolant though.

Yes your right completely spaced Eugene for some reason.


Just talked to my family mechanic which we've known for more than 32 years and he said that if I get extended life for imports it should be fine. I'm planning a trip to Eugene in July so ill probably pick some up for all my family. Thanks guys!
