I will just leave this here. (side note : Auris is called the corolla in the USA).

It's roughly based on the Corolla; I think it diverged a bit in later generations.

The new Scion iM is actually very heavily based on the Auris. (The new Scion iA is a Mazda 2 with Scion Badges... right down to the SkyActiv engine)

That's an awesome commercial and brings back memories of the original Gundam series. <3
