Toyota sells ~560k 4Runners per generation

As a bored office drone on a Friday I started looking at the 4Runner Wikipedia page and a curious statistic caught my eye.

The wiki page contains complete sales data starting with the 3rd gen and for every generation Toyota moves approximately 560,000 4Runners:

- 561,048 3rd gen
- 566,032 4th gen
- 477,137 5th gen

5th gens sold 97k in 2015 and 111k in 2016, so depending on 2017 sales it might meet or exceed the 560k mark, however Toyota typically moves the least amount of trucks in the last model year of the generation which is 2017 for the 5th gen so well have to wait and see.

And this concludes the random 4runner fact of the day :thumb:

At this point, it seems more than safe to assume that the '18 model year will still be 5th generation. If an all new 4Runner was around the corner, we would have seen/heard something by now.

when I got mine a few months ago, I was actually waving at other 4runners like I do in my Jeep.

Then my arm got tired and I was like, screw this. There's 800 million of these things....
