Toyota OEM Sirius w/06 NAV

I just got my SIRIUS tuner for my truck today..

Just to let people know, if you are installing one, the one difference between the kits is that the Solara, Camry, kits have a windshield mount antenna, where the Landcrusier has a external flat antenna..

I should have ordered the Landcrusier kit... Oh well... I will install it this week, if anyone is interested.

-Since I have that double floor thing, I cut out some of the extra plastic, and stuffed the Sirius tuner in there.. Perfect fit.

Great pics. It looks very nice.

Once I get a 2006 T4R Nav unit I should be able to add Sat radio too.

I just got the Sortster last week - Howard is coming all over America....... Can I do a set up like that if I don't have the Nav? Not a fan of having that extra stuff suctioned to the dash. I also found that as I drove from FL to Atlanta I had to change the fm frequency a few times. I was looking for a cleaner install but wanted to get the boom box.

Im not sure what head units support it. I sold my 05 headunit already so I cant even look to see if it supports it..

(I think you are able to tho..)

I have the 2004 T1804 model Scion radio without the knob in the center. It has satellite input capiblily with an adapter....but from the XM only. You will need to mount the Sirius reciever so the you can change the channels. I don't believe you can from that model of radio. I am happy to see the car mfgrs starting to offer the ability to equip both sat company's recievers into your vehicles.
You got me thinking about possibily looking into seeing if the sat display will work on the scion radio. As a matter of fact, I believe it will!!! Do a search here on scion radios as I remember seeing a member post a photo showing the title of a sat input information on his scion radio screen.

Sirius (toyota interface) and Ipod (AIC-100i) working on the Navigation

Yesterday was a pretty big day for my 4runner. I plugged in the backup camera and added sirius and the AIC-100i interface from Vais tech. Everything worked theoretically, but running the intergrated sirius through my navigation and the Vais interface at the same time made the navigation run pretty hot. You could feel the heat coming off of the navigation touch screen. I yanked the AIC-100i and the system cooled down. I called Vais and asked them if the sirius would run with their interface and they told me the sirius module manufactured by Toyota was made pretty shoddy. I doubt that very much. Anyone who is interested in this exact setup please be aware of the following: The AIC-100i added a lot of noise to my system and when you run a second device off of their provided Y-adapter it makes the whole system run extremely hot.

P.S. I also installed a ground loop as suggested by Vais, but the interface still added noise.

j0mama,
Thanks for the pics. I did my install exactly like yours and it worked out great. I only have on equestion. What did you need the Toyota Y adapter for? In my setup, I just plugged the Sirius wire to the Nav unit and everything worked.
