Toyota Sirius

Sirius Tuner

Yo Zoso Runner,

It works...I have it installed in my 4runner with the 05' camry navigation. I bought mine here:

http://www.metrotpn.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=153

Just make sure to get the camry receiver for $165.00 and the fit kit for $80.00. It's all plug and play. I installed the receiver under my passenger seat, it took about 20 minutes to install everything. The only downside to these integrated sirius receivers is that they have limited text support. I'm not able to get scores when I'm listening to NBA games, because the navigation runs out of characters.

Just what I was looking for

I just got my 06 T4R Limited with nav last week and up until I found this website and this thread, I couldn't get a single answer about installing Sirius or XM in it. Great website and thread. jOmomma did a great job and now I just have to figure out exactly how he did that install...as I'm a newbie with the 4Runner. jO, you said you got the receiver kit on ebay I believe...what exactly should I look for? I don't have the rear DVD so I guess I don't need the Y connector? You recommend the LandCruiser kit? Man, right now I'm like a kid in the candy shop with a fist full of fifties! I just have to figure out what I need, order it and do the install. Thanks to all that posted on this topic.

Anyone try the XM setup?

It's great to see the Sirius receiver works well with this setup but has anyone tried the same setup but with XM? Another question I have, like on the metrotpn.com, they list the various model cars and the receivers...what is the difference between these? I think all the receivers are the same, it's just the cables and antennas that are different. Anyone familiar with this? I'm just trying to figure out what the right receiver to get would be. Even the guy I spoke to at metrotpn.com said that there is no listing for the 4Runner. Thanks!

Any kit is fine for Toyota, they use the same reciever.. I just didnt like the windshield mounted antenna I got when I got the Solara kit... I read the Land crusier kit uses a roof mounted style antenna (which I swaped for)

I dont think you need the "Y" adapter since you dont have any other options.

Where does the satellite receiver plug to?

Antenna connector?

I'm looking at the XM receiver and notice it has 2 antenna connectors. Does the Sirius receiver have 1 or 2 connectors? How would I hook up a single antenna lead to a receiver with the 2 connectors?

Does the soundlinq Ipod adapter and the solara sirius adapter plug into different ports or the same? I tried searching, but did not find a clear answer.

-Since I have that double floor thing, I cut out some of the extra plastic, and stuffed the Sirius tuner in there.. Perfect fit.

I have the double rear floor as well, where exactly is that void located that you mounted the sirius receiver? I have the receiver on order and want to find that spot, it looks perfect.

Thanks

Taking the Factory radio out?

To the guys that did this install with the factory nav radio, what is involved in getting the factory radio out to get the plug in the back? Is it just the silver trim around the radio that needs to be removed and what is the proper way to get it off? Man, I love working on cars but I just hate dealing with interior trim as it's always so easy to destroy if you don't yank it apart properly! Any tips appreciated!

I just ordered an 06 Lmt with Navi and everyone had pretty much told me it was impossible to get the sat radio to work through the nav unit! This really is going to work great.

j0mama I have the rear seat DVD as well, so what exactly am I going to need to order to get this set up. Also what does the winshield ant look like? As far as I can tell I just need the Land Cruiser package from http://www.metrotpn.com and i will be good to go or am I way off?

you can get the y adapter from your dealer.

Alright... at under $250.. it's time to make the purchase... Can someone confirm what I need.

I have 04 sr5 w/ solara Nav.

I think I need the Landcruiser reciever and the solara fit kit from

http://www.metrotpn.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductID=153

Do you agree?

Thanks!

alright, i think i'm in oin this too...wheres the best place to go to get this stuff installed, dealers or a Car Audio store?
will dealers be able to order this stuff too, or is it better to bring them the gear and have it installed?

Dealer price for equipment and install

My dealer in Morristown NJ said they will install the Camry kit in my 06 4Runner SE (no Nav). $499 for equipment and install. I like the idea of the LandCruiser antenna mount. Will have to call back and ask about that. Just wanted to put that out there for those who are also a little nervous about the install.
