Going so far as to give the product specs, platform details and talk powertrains makes me think that Toyota may have production intentions for this thing.

Edit: The one promising thing is they partnered with the north face for the interior. I would love a trd pro north face edition. The back door concept is alright.

I'm not sure if I should be carefully optomistic or what. Did I just throw up in my outh a little, or is this a feeling of anxiety at a new Toyo 4WD? One thing's for sure, it's gonna be a while before any of us accept it mentioned in the same crowd as the FJ, FJC, Tacoma, or LC like this guy said.

I didn't miss that, or any of the other posts about the FT-4X - there's been a lot of talk back & forth about this new concept (like the thread you just shared). This was the first true "reveal" so to speak. I mean, the video was just posted about an hour ago and I didn't see anyone else commenting.

It was easy to speculate based on the descriptions, but now that I can actually see what direction it's going in...meh. This is CERTAINLY NOT anywhere near a new FJ or anything else for that matter. It seems to be a notch above the RAV-4. About the only thing I found promising was the mention of a true mechanical 4WD system vs. AWD. The concepts are cool, and the instant name recognition added by North Face's quick bandwagon promo ( a sleeping bag, really?) might make it popular...if it ever gets produced.
