You are wrong in the last part. Toyota's run forever.... just do regular maintenance. They usually last 30 years minimum. My car is 21 years old and it is my daily driver. Starts with 1 try....

Haha ya, unfortunately we do have to go to school and work still. Happens every year usually in January. I know its coming every year, but it still sucks everytime. And ya, regular maintenance and i feel it may last forever.

Yep I grew up in Duluth, I feel your pain... Had mine for 7 years in Minneapolis and NEVER had a problem starting.

Agree, her in CT it's was 6 digrees last night and it's going to be 0 tonight. Have a remote start on my 97 for the last 14 years and the sucker starts up every morning with no problems. Incredibly reliable vehicles.

It's also about your battery;I have a Napa Legend in mine and after sitting in subzero temps for two nights I went out at -7F and it started right up with no hesitation. I think it started easier than my wife's garaged Focus.
The extreme cold temps is another reason I prefer synthetic fluids since the pourability is night and day vs dino versions.

Two mornings ago it was -24F and mine fired right up, no block heater... it cranked slow but she turned soon enough. It's been -10 or colder for the last 4 nights, that was by far the coldest. I believe the real feel with the wind chill was -43F.

I'm in Jamestown, ND for school/baseball and it is a COLD s.o.b. some days. Never have any problems with my truck starting in it.

Mine was from MA, and it started fine in the winter, also having an Optima Red Top helps too. Toyota knew what they were doing when they made the 3rd gens.
