Toytec 1.5" Rear Spacer

Yeah, post up some pics. I didn't mention it, but in that picture I posted, my rig had 1" of rake. Then I put my skids on, and the front went down another inch. So for a while I was driving with 2" of rake. THAT didn't look very good. lol
 
Haha. that's funny. think it's the highlader springs? What size tires were you running btw? were they 265/70s? or 285/75s? I know i'm being annoying. 16 or 17 inch Soft 8's?

ROFL, at the annoying comment. You're fine dude, questions are all good. lol

I had 265/75R16 BFG M/T's on the 16" soft 8's. Now I have 285/75 BFG A/T's on...but I lifted the front up about 3 inches and am getting ready to install my rear lift whenever I can find time.
 
I have been following your build thread! it's lookin awesome man! i'm running 265/70s on the stock 16" 5 spokes. hope she looks as good as yours someday!
 
I'm no photographer, and the lighting sucks... but here it is before and after. the before pic doesnt even look saggy, but i promise it was.

In my opinion, that looks pretty damn good. I don't pay as much attention to the actual gap between fender and tire...but more the roofline. And it will settle just a tiny bit after you drive it 100 miles.
 
I agree w/QS, it was just a small change but it made a big improvement in the appearance of the vehicle.

I've been following this thread since you started it because I am about to install a similar setup on my '97. The shocks are so worn out that it's literally riding on the springs. I didn't want to lift it, so I got some Yellow Bilstein HD's all around and a set of 1.5" spacers to get the rear end up a little.

After seeing this thread and both of the trucks, I'm really excited to see how it's going to look.

Thanks guys. I like the way it turned out! Might still do 3/4 inch top plates it it doesn't settle more. We will see. Turned out good though.
 
I know you probably already knew I would say this, but here goes anyway:

It looks great just like it is. Don't mess with top plate spacers for the front. PITA anyway.
 
Haha. for the time being, i'm gonna leave her. gives me some money to buy trd decals for the rear quarters and a trd grille insert. :banana:
 
I like the raked look. My '01 has 2" of rake from front to back and I think it looks perfect. I'd say forget about the top plate spacers as well and run it how it sits.
 
thanks BigFish! I like it too. now i just gotta order my decals and insert. what are the best looking TRD decals to put on the rear quarter panels?
 
maybe i need some new wheels and rubber around christmas time... i'm diggin the brushed steel looking soft 8s and some 265/75s. time will tell. i guess i should have titled this my build thread... even though i'm not really building. :D
 
Thanks quick. Update... coils have settled a little. not much. the massive rake doesn't bother me, it's just noticable. i'm at least driving her like this till christmas. then maybe top plates, new wheels, new rubber etc...

tonight... driving home from downtown...

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. blah. i did just seafoam the last tank of gas, so i undid the negative side of my battery for about 15 min. the ecu reset, and i restarted the engine. light went off, but sceptical to whether or not it will come back on. pray for me. just put 680 bucks into her for some ignition coil stuff at the beginning of summer. so hopefully not another drastic bill. we will see.
 
If the CEL pops on again, get it scanned and see what's going on. There's almost always a cheap way to fix stuff for the quasi-short term.
