Gary have you noticed much of a difference in the ride quality?

Still in process of ordering, they seem to be hard to get in Canada most sellers won't ship up here. Still apparently looking at 5-7weeks delivery from Icon for the stock fronts. I will be starting with just the fronts as my front end is in a bit of a mess right now with one shock pretty well completely leaked out.

For the rears if you want 3" of lift you need to special order extra length ones from Icon as they only stock manufacture a set for maximum 2" lift at the rear, 3" at the front (the external res/variable valving model). I called Icon and asked why - Icon support says they don't like the approx 1" back to front rake on the 3rd gens and build their front/rear sets to level out the suspension front to back.

I will be going the special order route as I tend to level out the rear on my 2000 with extra weight (shrockworks bumper, tire carrier, hi-lift, 5 gal jerry can + gear). Before I can order I need to remove my rear shocks and measure max up travel position and max down travel position and send them the measurements for the special order.

This may take some time as I have just done some major engine work and other stuff and have a very busy schedule right up to winter. I don't expect to have the complete set on before spring at this rate.

For the money to upgrade to the Icons I am expecting improvements is both ride quality, handling and longevity .... time will tell

The 2nd set was the standard Icon shocks and ended up getting rebuilt twice in 20k miles on a garage queen 4Runner. Both owners are very meticulous and do not abuse their rigs. I am currently running ToyTec Ultimate on my 3rd gen 4Runner front suspension. I am looking to swap them out for a nice tuned Fox setup later this year.

My Toy Tecs ran okay for multiple trips to Big Bend, Ozarks, and cross country trips. But after riding in a well tuned setup with remote reservoirs that were setup and tuned I felt and saw a night/day difference. The cost is not that much more when you buy them from Accutune.

I am too broke to buy parts twice so I try to buy the best the first time. YMMV

Their website has the standard shocks; but if you email them and tell them what your budget and goals are they will tell you what your options are. I highly recommend them after seeing/feeling what they have done in comparison to Icons.

Been running icon CDC for probably over a year. And no issues. Also, I’m pretty sure that king, Fox and icon do not make a 3” lift shock for the rear. That is a custom shock. They only make a front one. So if you have 3” or more in the rear. You will need to get some measurements and get a custom one made. Right out of the box, the icons say clearly that they require a rebuild every 10-15k miles if I recall correctly. I think if you play hard you simply have to maintain your parts !
