Toytec Lift Kit

Im thinking about ordering the Toytec Boss Suspension System Full kit. I think I will be adding the 5160 reservoir rears. Any other lifts i should be looking at for this price? Do I need to add the UCA's? Any help is greatly appreciated. Im pretty new at this.. I have read through the lift threads for hours.

While the toytec is not bad, I feel there are better options. Toytec sells the radflo kit for the same price, and I feel the radflo is a better setup. I run them, right now and enjoy them. Others have had some problems with the radflos being noisy, and clunk over bumps. The nice thing about them though, is they are completely rebuildable and tunable like any high end coilover, so you can tune the ride for your truck. The toytec boss kit uses a generic, non- rebuildable shock for the front coilovers, so there is no tunability. Id also look at the Icon stage 1 kit, which is right around $500 more, but is definitely worth it. There are a large number of people running them here, and Im sure one of them will chime in.

Basically, it comes down to how you want to use your truck, and your budget. If you plan to offroad it a lot, Id definitely go with a higher end coilover, but if it sees a lot of street with a little offroad, save some bucks and get the toytec boss kit. Hope that helps.

Thank you for your input! Its mostly a street truck but, I want to be fully capable off road as well. I haven't looked into the Radflo.I was looking at the Icon as well.

I was looking into this kit last night. I am willing to up the budget a bit if it's worth it. I plan on keeping the runner for a while so, I want a lift that will do the same. Who on here is running this kit?

Will this kit still require replacing UCA for ideal allighnment ?

I am running the Toy Tech kit and have been for close to 60k miles, no issues, and I have been very happy with its performance. I dont off road daily but when I do I get pretty agressive and have put it through its paces.

I do recommend UCA's, I have the Total Choas UCA's and it simply gives be piece of mind. The stock UCA's really seemed maxed out.

In my opinion go with the Toy Tech kit and save some money, your not a hard core off roader and put the extra money in to UCA's, and the total choas spindle gussets.

Suggested, especially if your intended ride height is in the 3" range.

I bought the BOSS lift in November and I love it along with my friends that ride in my 4runner, great on street handling and amazing off-road. The kit went in with no problems. I also bought new UCAs to get max lift out of the front coils. In my posting i showed old and new next to each other.

What UCA's did you use? Is there anything else that you needed to complete?

I purchased light racing upper control arms. Those also went in with no problems. With the BOSS kit i ordered the dif drop and sway brace drop. I didn't need brake lines or anything else to complete the BOSS lift. To fit 35's i also did a body lift and body mount chop, but I don't see a need for that if you want 33's

Thanks! Im still stuck between the toytec boss and the icon stage 1. Ill pull the trigger on one when the tax return arrives
