Has anyone ever used this lift kit?

3" lift ToyTec/Bilstein kit for 96-02 4Runner


If so, what are your thoughts on it? Ride quality?

Also, will this avoid putting too much stress on the ball joints and cv axles if I get the diff drop kit?

Can I fit 285's on it with just the kit?

I know about the sticky lift thread but it really doesn't answer all these questions. Also I don't need a technically superior lift as most of the off roading I do is just on forest service roads in Colorado to access camping sites in the summer. More doing it for looks and bigger tires.

With 3" of lift, you should be able to fit 285's with trimming. If you are just doing it for looks and slightly better ride quality, this lift seems right up your alley. Personally I would save for a Toytec Boss, but since you know that you won't be doing hard wheeling, I say go for it!

I don't have this exact kit, they didn't offer it when I bought mine.
But I have close to the same thing. Toytec 3" lift springs all the way around, and bilstein 5100 all the way around.
My ride was drastically improved over stock. But my stock stuff was really worn out. IIRC my front was barely sitting an inch or so off the bump stops. It rides so much smoother now.
I'm running 305/70/16 tires, but with 1.5" spacers. They wouldn't fit with out the spacers, the tires were hitting the UCA. I get a little rubbing on the plastic lower part of the front bumper. I've done a little off roading, most sketchy ranch "roads", with no problems.
