TPMS light problem

A few weeks ago something on the highway tore a hole into a tire so I had to replace it with a new one. The light had been on after the tire was damaged but I just put the new tire on and the light is still on. Do I have to reset something or will the TPMS eventually recognize the signal coming from the rim with the new tire? I also recommend you guys try taking the tire out at least once... made things a lot easier for me since it was at night.

I take it from what you describe the light came on solid like it's supposed to when you got the flat. The light should reset within a minute of sensing a properly inflated tire (IIRC the threshold is above 28 psi.) Is the light on solid or blinking now that you have the new tire? Stupid question, but did the tire shop leave the TPMS on the rim? Did they give you a new valve stem instead which means the TPMS is somewhere in your truck and not sensing an inflation pressure. If you have all the sensors installed and the light is solid then that is kind of OK. Just check that all your air pressures are up, including the spare. If the light is blinking, then that means there is a system fault, more than likely the TPMS on the replacement tire/rim was damaged by the shop.

well it just fixed itself and the light went out today.
