TPS and traction control lights !?

4 New wheels-tires installed a few months ago. Spare is orig. TPS not recalibrated so TPS light on all the time. As time passed I began to get the traction control and ABS lights on more and more frequently. At first I thought it was the "gas cap issue" but no chk engine lite and no codes! So now I'm thinking that the "brain" thinks the tires are all screwed up and it won't be able to maintain ABS control. I will get the TPS's reset soon to see if that will fix the dash lite issue. Any thoughts? Similar experiences?

Check on older posts , but go into tpms ecu module behind glove box & unplug it leave for at least 72 hrs maybe more see what happens ! This happened on my son's 05 & we thought maybe batteries or one had gone bad , on recommendation from our resident mech. genius BlackworkInc did this ! In our case he left for school & was gone all semester so we came home plugged back in & worked & hasn't been a problem since !

Did the new tires come with new TPMS sensors? Or were the old sensors put in?

If the sensors are new they’ll need to be paired to the truck’s TPMS computer.

Shouldn’t effect your traction control and ABS though, you might have a separate problem there.

The new wheels/tires have new TPS
The TPS light was on , as expected, but the the other lites come on more and more frequently and I can usually extinguish them by turning the ignition off and on. the lites are.............

maybe the TPS sensor is "telling" the ABS control there is a prob with the tires/brakes or something like that or I need to do the Zero Point Calibration!?

You may need a new brake light switch , several threads on here discussing it. It’s a somewhat common problem. Cheap part you can swap yourself. You can return the part if doesn’t work.

Doesn’t sound like a zero point calibration is needed. That’s supposed to set those lights off the moment the car moves, not while driving for a bit.

As for the TPMS, get the new sensors paired or disable it , there’s a thread on here how to do that yourself with simple wiring job.

The brake switch could be it, especially if OP ever has trouble shifting out of park.

If no traction-wheel control light within a few days
I will consider the prob solved.

After a week and 200+ miles I think the brake lite switch has solved the ABS and traction control issues:rockon:
