TPS not going to 100% at WOT?

Hi guys,

I put the OBDII scanner on my '97 T4R to check a code (bad O2 sensor, bank 1 sensor 1). While I was there I decided to check to see what values some of the sensors were registering. When I had my foot completely off the gas, the Throttle Position Sensor registered 11.8%, and when I opened the throttle body all the way (both with the gas pedal, and opeing the TB by hand), it registered 76.5%.

Bad TPS?

So... how does the computer know when your at 100% throttle?

I'd really like someone to chime in on this. Surely a maximum registered value of 76.5% can't be normal....
