Tracking an ordered 'Runner

I ordered a new V8 Sport in mid January. Dealer told me up front it may be 90 days until delivery. Does anybody know if/how I can track where my order is at any given time. I thought I read somewhere on this board I could get a VIN at some point and track it. I would love to be able to keep up with its status without constantly calling the dealership. Any help is appreciated.

I ordered mine too. Mine took a little over 120 days. I am not sure where you are, but the south is a little different with the SE distribution. But what I did learn is after the truck order is placed, after about 30 days of the order, your dealer should be able to provide you with the VIN and status. I had to hound the dealer here becuase they were either lazy or stupid. I am thinking a combination of both. They finally were able to provide me with the status.

I actually found my truck on Toyota's web site 2 days after they provided me with the VIN. I found it when I did the dealer inventory search and actually had a picture of it as well.
