Traction Beeping

So, I bought my runner a few months ago, added tires and a lifted it....anxiously awaiting the next snowfall.

It just arrived...is it common, that EVERY TIME

TRACTION KICKS IN THE CAR BEEPS AT ME?!? I don't mind the flashing light but the beep is out of hand....??

It beeps when there's a loss of traction detected and the system kicks in, yes. Not sure if you can disable the beep.
 
The beeping is from the yaw sensors for VSC detecting your sliding sideways, not from the traction control.
 
Yeah the beeping is the stability control not the traction control...so when you get squirrely it will beep at you like when you start fishtailing etc. But just traction doesn't beep. If you lock the center diff no more beeping but make sure the roads are completely snow covered as locked center diff and dry pavement are not friends.

Is there a "top speed" recommended with locked diff?
 
You can turn VSC off without center diff lock. Put vehicle in park press and hold traction control button til VSC off light comes on. This is something Toyota started on '08.
