traction control is working when cent.diff locked

VSC is off when the center diff is locked, but ATRAC is still active. Is it possible ATRAC was engaging instead?
VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) grabs individual brakes & cuts engine power to prevent / counteract a skid.
ATRAC (Active Trac) grabs individual brakes (& cuts engine power? I'm not sure on that though) to mimic locking front & rear differentials; if, say, the front left wheel starts spinning, ATRAC clamps the brakes on it to allow the front right wheel to put some power down.
I'm pretty sure VSC engaging is accompanied by some flashing lights and beeping, but ATRAC engaging has no indication aside from the ~20Hz pulsing/clicking of the ABS pump doing it's thing.
I'm no expert on this though, anyone who knows more than I please correct any misinformation here.

Sounds right to me. Definitely will get the beeping audible indicator when the VSC kicks in The ATRAC will allow you to maintain throttle control but individually brake wheels to help you get traction. I've heard if you really get your foot in it and pull the RPMS high, ATRAC will more or less stop working. I've never had good cause to verify.

When you are locked it will beep at you if you spin, but it doesn't take any throttle away. As was stated, if you gun it and spin fast enough you will override the system. The key here is keep the rpm's close to 2000-2500. This allows the system to do it's job, stopping a tire that is spinning sending the power to the one with traction. I have made it through some pretty hairy Shiznit because the system acts like a locker. Not quite as good, but next best thing without one. Many of these guys rock crawl without real lockers and do pretty decent.
