Traction Control/VSC problem

I just bought a 2001 4runner which drives great until I took it up paved canyon roads with twisty turns. When transitioning from turn to turn, (right-left, left-right) my traction control starts beeping although I have full traction, then it locks up my front brakes (more heavily on the right).

This is dangerous and probably shouldn't drive until I find a fix, but I will be moving soon and need the car. Thinking of doing the andy-mod without a switch until I can get one. Essentially just cut the wire and leave traction control off. Will this prevent my traction control/VSC from locking up the brakes? Will cutting the wire and not adding a switch mess anything else up?

Also: no lights on dash (TC,VSC, engine, etc) until I make above mentioned turns and TC light turns on and beeps

Will also try zero point calibration and see if that works.

Some other things:
-car is completely stock, previous owner said he never put lift or any other mods
-166,000 miles (maybe shouldn't have bought with so many miles but I like the 3rd gen)
-took it to get an alignment, came back with the alignment worse, steering wheel 5 degrees to the right. Noticed TC issue before alignment though
-little bit of play in the steering wheel, but still responsive and turns great until TC kicks in for no reason

I have done both Andy Mod does the trick. Lots of Info to read to understand how system works How-to's on both in forum.

166k mi is nothing for a 3rd Gen.

this is right on, and the Andy Mod is the way to go, even if you were not having problems because the VSC/Trac is designed to not only regulate what power goes where using the abs system to apply brakes, but will also cut power to engine when you need it most.
I think I saw on youtube where a guy just unplugged something from the master cylinder for a temp disable

And there is the case where a forum member said it caused his rollover in a turn rearend got squirrely on gravel as story goes.

At 166k mi depending on how it been used I'll bet it starting to sag VSC could be getting sensitive.

Been researching the Andy Mod 2.0 and I'm thinking for now I can just cut the red wire with black strip and leave it without a switch (won't be able to turn TC on, but seems safer without it)? Later on I could tap into it and add switch once it ships... or just rig it up to a generic light switch like one you find in a house.

Thank you for your response, it gave me some reassurance. Let me know what you think about just cutting the wire without installing switch for now. I'm not to good at electricals so it feels like I'm trying to diffuse a bomb :crazy:

Thank you 3bears. I'm having trouble finding Sean's video. Is there anyway you could paste a link.

I also saw a video on YT of a guy unplugging the whole connector from master cylinder. I can't find it again but seems simple enough that I could just go off memory and try it tomorrow.

Going to be trying this as well. Hopefully it will make it less sensitive.

Something I forgot to mention is that my front bearings need replacing, and within the next 2k miles my rotors and brake pads. This could be contributing to my TC getting triggered.

Until I find the time, the Andy Mod seems like the way to go for now
