When I go around a corner with wet tires, the slip indicator comes on as expected and I also hear a clicking sound from the front. What is this clicking? If I push it a little further I get the warning beep and the VSC indicator. I thought it might be the ABS but I don't feel it in the brake pedal. 04 v8 2wd. Thanks

It's probably your VSC acting on your front tires. Traction control is probably also working too on your rear axle. The main culprit is VSC.

Dude, you have like 320lb torque going to your rear wheels :
Some better rubber will alleviate some of those instances...

I have 2wd also. It sounds to me like a relay from under the dash but I am at loss to explain what it would be controlling in this instance. I often hear it without the indicator light in tight turns.

Perhaps it's controlling slip in the differential. But then I don't know the purpose of the "auto LSD" switch.

the clicking you hear is the TRAC system braking the tire that is slipping, so yes, it IS the ABS, tho not felt much thru the pedal. Go do some mud donuts with the TRAC on and then some with the TRAC off(since you have a 2wd you can turn it off) and see if that was it.

The auto LSD function on 2wd runners is to allow you the option of a "modified LSD" That is there to aid you if your in shifty soil or sand and are getting stuck because only one wheel is spinning. With the auto LSD enabled, the Runner will utilize the brakes so the wheel that is slipping the most is braked to allow the other wheel to spin. Thus you have traction on the wheel with the bigger potiental to grab and get you unstuck.

What you are hearing/seeing is the stability control (VSC) kicking in. The system sensed the rear losing traction (before it happened) and took control of your vehicle by appling braking to different wheels to prevent the rear from coming around.

I am having this occur as well.... but I can't seem to get the VSC light and "Beep" or "Chirp" to sound when I spin out. I only hear the clicking (very fast) from the dash, like that of a relay. The 4R "used" to have the VSC light come on and beep 4x when I lose traction, but, even with the bald Dunflops on it now, I can't get it to do it anymore.

Is this be something I should be worried about and have the dealer look at?
