Traction Ramps, anyone?

In our desert environment, does anyone think that traction ramps are a good idea? Maxtrax, etc. I am contemplating the group but from the Australian company.

I'd rather have a KERR rope (Bubba or ASR) or rear locker before spending money on those.

I'd say it's always a good idea to be prepared, especially if you plan on visiting other states that aren't as rocky as ours. Not too sure a locker is good enough for sand and the like. Self rescue is a lot cheaper than calling a company to come get you out.

I have been eyeing that Kickstarter for the low wear ones from Oz.

I carry a set of Treds. I have yet to use them but I got them pretty cheap through a group buy. I figure it couldn't hurt in addition to everthing else.

I used to be a desert rat, and have been stuck many times in the loose sand. I can't even begin to tell you how many different items i have put under the wheels for traction just to get ging again. I would get the traxx in a heartbeat, just my opinion though.
