Traded in the 2004 the other day...

Picked up a 2011 Sienna. This is the wife's vehicle, I still have my 2000 4Runner. Sad to see it go, it has been a wonderful vehicle. Other than replacing the front calipers, maintenance was pretty normal. Just need the extra room since we have 2 small children and a 3rd on the way.

The day we traded it in:

The new Sienna XLE with Navigation and Entertainment package. Salsa Red Pearl with Bisque leather interior.

You will miss the 4Runner but man you can't beat how nice the Honda and Toyota Minivans are. When I have kids down the road, I will have no problem driving one of those, luxury, tons of room, not too bad acceleration, and good gas mileage. If you can deal with the "minivan" part, then you will love it.

OverlyUnderme - Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for the losercruiser? We have plans for kid #3 and that won't swing with the current means of transport which is the 4runner. So I will take what was rightfully mine all along, my 4runner, back and we will buy either a new Sienna or a 2010 Odyssey (can't stand the new ones).

Why didn't you get rid of your 2000 and keep the 2004? I think that's what I would have done personally.

Nice Sienna. My wife loves her 11. Thankfully we traded in my 2010 Wrangler for the van, and I took over her 4Runner.

Very nice. I really like the deep dark red color. I'm a big fan of the mini vans, but can't part with my runner. I keep trying to sell the wife on the idea of selling her Lexus sedan for a mini van. Entertainment package is a big plus, especially with the little ones. Not to say dad can't toss a mtb DVD into the mix sometimes.Enjoy.

A little over $39,000 OTD. Sticker was $40,100. The entertainment package was about $2,500 of that.

The 2000 is paid for, the 2004 was purchased in 2007 and still had a note on it. Both have the same amount of miles, but the 2004 was going to need rear calipers soon (after already replacing the fronts), and I just spent quite some time putting a new stereo, amp and subs in the 2000. But the main thing was the car note. This still keeps us from having 2 car notes.

Limited is. Pretty bad when you can get a minivan to reach over $45k. But the new Siennas are SO nice.

• Don't know if I'll be letting go of the 4Runner

...I just want it, because, loving having Remote Sliding Doors & Remote Rear Hatch.

No, the Limited is the top of the line and it stickers around $44K to $46K. This one with the Navigation Package and Entertainment Package is just about everything a Limited has except for the additional sunroof, power folding 3rd row seats and 18" wheels. However, the XLE does have the option to add the additional 2nd row seat in the middle, making passenger capacity go to 8, which is nice when you need it.

The SE definitely is the best looking of the vans IMO. But you are correct, there is no option for the Entertainment Package, which was a deal breaker for us with 3 kids. Also, it has 19" wheels and 19" tires are more expensive than the 17"s on the XLE.

Thanks for the feedback - Hopefully Toyota gets smart and offers the entrtainment package on the 2012 Sport and they just might retain me as a customer. It may be a deal breaker for us as well, but based on pricing alone (sport stickers for $35k), I could probably get a custom one installed for much less than the difference between an XLE and sport.

What did you get for your 4 runner in trade value?

I got $9,500 for the 4Runner. 125,000 miles on it. About $500 more than I expected to get.

I would have bought the 2004 for at least $10,000.
