Lol this thread is getting good. As a manager at a dealership you have no recourse if you miss something, there is nothing to sign that would indemnify the previous owner. We had cars appraised where my employees missed THOUSANDS of dollars of hail damage all because it was raining or the customer never mentioned it. It's our problem, not theirs. At least in MN that's how it goes. We do have a safety inspection. Vehicles either get auctioned or retailed. If it needed that much work it would probably not be a retail car.

Silly little ***** haha. You seem mad. Yea, i signed that paper. Didn't ask of any known problems. Just asked about the odometer and if the motor was replaced. You seem a little upset? Why? If its deemed unsafe it will be sent to the scrap yard and used for parts. You should stop being such a cock puffer. If your really that upset about something that has nothing to do with you, you should probably find something better to do with your time then sit on T4R being a tuff guy behind a key board. You probably feel like your doing society a big favor by commenting on my post, trying to make yourself look like a good person. Plus, as many times as a stealership has gotten over on people, maybe it was my turn. Haha. So +1 for me :lol: like i said before, it has to pass inspection to be sold again or wholesaled to someone else who will then have to have it inspected. Any dealer I traded in a car always asked and had me sign a paper of known problems or previous damage to the body. Paint work etc

Seems to be common. Bought many cars in ny pa and other states. Maybe I am sketchy that I buy a new car every year or so. Oh well. I don't care what people perceive of me but rather what I truly am. An upstanding , honest, man of my word and not an openly admitting liar and cheat.

Was it wrong that he didn't say anything to the dealer? Maybe, but so what. The dealer is the professional and should catch it. I wouldn't have said anything either. When I traded in my 97 JGC (when buying my current 4R), I knew the tranny was on its way out, but I said nothing to the salesman. Sure enough, weeks later, someone at service recognized me and said my Jeep's tranny was toast. I replied by saying it was fine when I traded it in (truth). I based my opinion that it was on it's way out b/c historically, when those transmissions start to act up, it's 99% sure it was starting to die. Had I said something, the salesman would've given my jackcrap for my trade-in. My point: Most people here would've done the same thing as the OP.
