Trading Up to MY2022

TRD Off Road or Pro
I am strongly considering a 2022 before they bring out the 6th Gen.
Looking for advice on model. Seems like I can save $10K or more on TRD Offroad compared to Pro. Add a Dobinsons lift, All Terrain tires, bolt on sliders (which I need in either case) and an aftermarket rack and I've got a pretty awesome offroader for a hell of a lot less money than the Pro.
Can even get Lunar Rock or Army Green which were previously Pro colors.
Yes, resale is not as high, but after 20 years and 400K miles not sure it will matter.
Thoughts?

Doesn't make sense to get a Pro anymore. You can get the off road premium with the black TRD wheels, TRD skid plate and even the TRD roof rack right from the factory. Get it in army green or lunar rock and throw on the TRD grill and bumper valences, all terrain tires and upgrade your shocks and you've built a PRO for thousands less and you don't have to burn your retinas with lime rush.

Honestly I don’t understand even getting the off road. If you just have to have the locker, maybe, but I’ve had ATRAC get me out of crazy stuff I don’t know a locker would help. I’d find the cheapest model you can find and put a lift, suspension, and skids and go have fun. I bought an SR5 and thought the $4k+ for a locker was stupid. To each their own I guess.
This is the way I went, but for different reason. I wanted to get an off road, but my son talked me into getting an SR5 because it had three row seating (not available on the off road or Pro). Glad I did; the grandkids love the back row.
And, as you said, ATRAC is just as good as a locker. ATRAC has also helped me over some really bad places.

The ONLY model that had the options I wanted, and none of the options I didn't want, was the TRD ORP.
Hindsight says I should have gone with an ORP. I thought with the Pro I wouldn’t be inclined to mod as much, but that didn’t work too well. Now I’m kind of tied to the Fox shocks with limited (one) spring option because of the 2021 design change - I had the shock TSB done on my ‘19. I also didn’t get an exclusive color because I didn’t like voodoo. I wouldn’t trade up to a 22 though. If anything I’d get into a GX or LC now that I better understand my own use base for this, which is DD and family adventure.

I wouldn't get anything newer than the 19 Pro that I have. I don't need/want the extra safety stuff. If I could do it again tho I would definitely go for an ORP and save some money and just build it up. Wouldn't be the right color though haha
