Did a little photoshop magic. I really want to add more aggressive tires so i did a bit of photoshop to my black trail. Not sure if i will get these tires as i have read the sidewall is kinda soft and flexible and may not be so great on the road. I drive on the road 90% of the time. I may get the Bridgestone Revo 2's. Good for street and off road. I hope they will look aggressive enough.

The Revos are not even close in looks.

I drive my 4runner on road a lot and the Duratracs are fine. I'm sure others who have them will say the same thing.

Revo 2's suck in comparison to the original revos. I had them on my 4runner before I sold after having two sets of the original revos and the difference was night and day.

I had the original Revos on my Tacoma. I LOVED them... best tires I ever owned. What did they change for the Revo 2 to make it a lesser tire?

Anyhow, I'm about to make the switch from my crappy stock Bridgestones (less than 1000 miles on them if anyone wants them) to a set of DuraTracs. They are a mean looking tire.

the 2's are a big improvement i read, in noise and durability. You going to do white letter out? I'm leaning toward in. I wish they made these in 275/70 17s... 285s will be too big.

They have a 50k mile warranty too. Awesome.

I've owned 2 sets of originals...best tire made in my opinion. The Revo 2's on irregular roads was where they suck. They'll grab an edge and steer your vehicle for you...terrible tracking on uneven roads. Outside of that, they're probably fine. I never off-roaded with the 2's, just the originals, but lots of off-roading with the originals and they amazed everyone I wheeled with.

I just had bought 4 of those for my 2006 4R in fall and might see about swapping these with the stock Duelers on the Trail on Monday. One place through the dealer offered me $300 on trade in, what do you think?

I called the Firestone auto care place and they said the Revo's were not covered in the deal, check this link:

The firestones were way better than my stock Dunlaps in the snow. I did notice they were a bit too sensitive at freeway speeds meaning any slight turn of the wheel and the truck moved.

The revos were $700-$300(trade ins) so $400 out of pocket.

My thoughts exactly. I just would hate to be stuck with those crappy stock Duelers for 3-4 years. I made a call to my dealer today and see what he can do.

Where did you get your rock rails?? They look good, not too beefy. Just enought to cover the gap between bottom of door and frame rails.

My truck is my daily driver and drive on the highway alot and at usually 75mph so I was concerned with early reviews also but took a chance because of a good deal I got on them and am not disappointed after the first several thousand I've put on them now. No noticeable sidewall flex (I have the C load range) even over expansion joints/bumps/sudden lane changes at highway speeds and they corner decent on dry pavement;I do wish however they came in D load since E is a bit much and I don't want to suffer any lower MPGs than I get in the city.
They aren't as good a on road tire as my Nittos (D load) on the street but they are more solid in the snow whether it's 2" or 16" deep and did well on the limited trail time I've had so I like the tradeoffs so far.

They also are agressive looking and do draw attention even at a distance which is nice when you spend almost $800 on tires.

One thing I might be concerned with the Duratrac C load range on your TE since there's at least a 700lb diff between my '99 and your '10 but E might be too much for a tire that sees alot of pavement.

So far the performance has been matching the looks.

I went with the E rated tires because they were only $15.00 more per tire than the C rate ones. I kept the stock 265/70/17 size. My guess is that by the time these wear out and I start shopping for new tires, more will be known about lifting KDSS equipped T4Rs, and I'll add a small lift and go up to 285s.

I'll snap some pics when they are mounted up.

Why didn't you go up a size?

Curious why you got the E rated? They will ride worse and give you worse gas mileage.

Can't wait to see them on.

I went with the E rated because they are much tougher, and for not much more money. Some of the trails I ride are very rocky (some sharp rocks)... E is a little more puncture resistant. I've also read quite a few reviews saying that the C rated DuraTrac can be a bit wobbly on highway cornering maneuvers (something about thin sidewalls)... whether or not that's true, the E's give me that little extra peice of mind.

I'm not worred about the ride too much, I'd wager that both C and E will ride worse than the stockers. E's weigh 6 more pounds than the C's and are 1/2 inch wider at the tread, I don't think it will be a huge difference... but I'm no expert and won't know until they are mounted up.

Up one size on a DuraTrac means 285s... I've never heard of anyone fitting 285s on a stock 4Runner (or Tacoma) without rubbing. I'm not planning on a lift, new wheels or any fender cutting anytime soon. I want to have full range of motion in my suspension without rubbing.

ahhhhhh I like that the E are a bit wider.... so maybe closer to a 275? Are the treads exactly the same?

I read maybe the same thing about the duratracs being kinda poor with lane chnges at highway speed. That scares me and may push me toward the Revo 2s....

Can't wait to see! Have you seen the Trail on the Rubicon pics with the goodyear MTRs and no center caps... Looks absolutely SICK.
