Trail premium entune system?

I understand the risk. I would not obviously advise sleeping with an engine running either, though under my circumstances there was no real danger.

I am looking on how to put my Infinity speakers that I pulled out of my truck before trading it in, these are great speakers and even though they are 5x7 or 6x8, I would like to fit them....

As a side note

In 1982 I was on the LSU Mini Baja race team as my final Mechanical Engineering design project. We went to Kodak Famrs in Rochester New York to race. What I remember most was parting with the guys from U of A, Little Rock, these were some real nice guys, crazy as ever. We had a good time. Man they could drink, they finished 3rd, we were 4th...in the race, not drinking

There was one guy on the team that was easy 6-5, called him tiny because he as the smallest in his family....

Hey Jakey. I got my TE 4Runner in September. I'm satisfied with the enTune entertainment center. I'm impressed with the sound quality. It has a mixing feature where you can fade left or right and back to front. I do think the system is biased on the base side. Another feature that helps the sound is the 4Runner is it's pretty quiet in the cab, not a lot of wind or road noise.

The enTune system has more features than I'll ever use. The back up camera works well. It has a nice size screen. I also like the weather app. I'ts satellite based, no fee. Same with the Nav system. It also has the HD radio traffic feature, but I've found Google maps on my phone works better for traffic updates. Entering destinations on the Nav system is a pain, but it does have the capability to use the ones on your phone, but I haven't done that yet.

It has voice command capability. I'm still figuring that out. I find myself using a combination of the voice commands and steering wheel buttons to get where I want to go.

All and all I give it a two thumbs up.

Is there setting to disable auto play when iPhone is connected via usb cable to 4Runner center media player?

Reason why I want to disable this feature: Whenever a YouTube vid is loading or buffers, the 4R media player auto plays music from phone.

FWIW - I have a TEP - stereo is just "okay" for me. Not great, not horrible. Where it really lacks is sound accuracy - by that I mean the various frequencies blend and it's as crisp and clear as some. Probably due to cheap speakers. My RX 350 with the Levinson system is quite a bit better. But it's also a lot more $. OTOH it's notably better than something like my last Honda Accord. So I'd say it's just "good". Part of it also has to do with the quality of music I use. I usually stream pandora and it's pretty low quality sound feed compared to other sources.

The biggest thing I don't like is the Pandora volume issue. It adjusts the volume of the music input based on what your media setting is on you phone. And the range is not simply increasing the volume, but it also changes the sound as well. Louder phone setting means more base. It's nice when you're tailgating to be able to adjust volume from your phone, but otherwise it's kind of a PITA to have to get your phone out and adjust the volume on the phone before you adjust the dash settings.

The other apps are great. The gas finder is awesome. I use it all the time.

Got my Trail Premium last week and the whole nav/audio randomly and quite frequently restart during use. It has occurred on all functions...phone call, nav, Bluetooth audio, xm radio, fm/am. Has anyone else had this issue? I was told to check back in a few weeks for an update. If not, they would replace the entire unit.

I've not experienced that. Mine has never done a re-start/re-boot. I hope you get it resolved quickly.

I got a 15' a few weeks ago, the only trouble my entune has given me is recognizing the blue tooth for the telephones. I did take the truck to a stereo shop and have the speakers swapped out with hertz components in the front and regular hertz in the back doors, the tail gate i disconnected and sound matting installed, makes a world of difference, even unamplified.

Entune on 2015 Trail

My Entune system has been fine as far as no glitches as reported above.

My biggest issue with the stereo is that it is in desperate need of some equalization. It is very very bass heavy for some reason and of course factory speakers don't handle the bass very well.

For a 4Runner, its a pretty go0d system. Compared with what's in most cars these days, it's a behind in the technology department.

I haven't upgraded to an after market stereo since i put a CD player in my 1990 4Runner Sr5, but I'm thinking about upgrading the speakers in my trail.

Without derailing the topic, you really have to test out the stereo with a CD ideally mastered in the early 2000s with a good mix. These days music is so compressed and most of the sources sound so terrible you can't use them to judge anything but loudness.
