Trail vs sr5 weight dif

I have searched everywhere on this forum regarding the 75lb weight difference between the trail & sr5 2016 model and I can find nothing. My question is this, is it possible that the sway bars and KDSS hardware are responsible for this huge amount of weight. I figure some of you engineer types may indeed know the answer.

THANK YOU

Just the KDSS hardware (two cylinders, two accumulators, valve, lines, mounting hardware) will easily weigh 75 lbs.

I don't know how heavy the factory e-locker is but I have an ARB unit and its definitely beefier and heavier than the stock open diff it replaced. The weight difference is fairly minuscule and I doubt it will effect the mpg. I have my money on the kdss vehicles adding the additional weight.

I bet an SR5 non-3rd row vs Trail non-kdss will weigh about the same.

Assuming it's not a KDSS model...

Trail has two extra steel skids - a T case and a gas tank skid - that I do not think the SR5 has. I would estimate about 15-20 for the gas tank skid and 5 lbs for the T-case skid... there's half the weight. Rear diff lock. Some plastic differences (front and rear bumper. Hood skewp. Not a ton of weight in all that stuff but I bet it adds up.
